About (Guan Zhong). There is a story about him recorded in history books.
The king of Qi Kingdom died, and the king's two brothers wanted to become the new king.
(Guan Zhong) helped the older brother, but it turned out that the younger brother succeeded in becoming king.
(Guan Zhong) To avoid being killed, he fled to other kingdoms.
The new king sent soldiers to hunt him down.
After successfully capturing (Guan Zhong), the soldiers escorted (Guan Zhong) back to the Qi Kingdom.
Since (Guan Zhong) was a prisoner, the soldiers gave him only a little water and food.
A few days later, the soldiers escorting Guan Zhong and Guan Zhong arrived at a border town in Qi State.
An official in the town saw that Guan Zhong was starving. The official secretly took food and water to Guan Zhong.
After Guan Zhong had eaten the food, the official said to [Guan Zhong].
I have heard that the new king appreciates your talents. Therefore, when you return to the capital, the king will not only release you, but even give you an important position in the central government. You must remember that I fed you today, and I hope you will give me a great reward in the future.
(Guan Zhong) replied to the official. If I am released after I return to the capital and am appointed to an important position by the king, I promise to repay you well.
The way I will repay you is to be fair and just, find some truly talented people to serve the country, make the Qi Kingdom stronger, and make your life safer.
After hearing Guan Zhong's words, the official complained that Guan Zhong was an ungrateful person.

幾天後,押送(管仲)的士兵們與(管仲)抵達齊國的一座境城市。
這座城市中的一個官員看見(管仲)已經快餓死了。這個官員便偷偷的拿了食物與水給(管仲)吃。
管仲吃完這些食物後,這個官員對(管仲)說。
我聽說新的國王很欣賞你的才能。因此在你回到首都後,國王不但會釋放你,甚至會讓你擔任中央政府內的重要職務,你要記得我今天讓你吃飽,我希望你以後會給我很大的回報。
(管仲)回答這個官員說。如果我回到首都之後我會被釋放而且我被國王聘請擔任重要的職務,我答應你、我一定會好好報答你。
我報答你的方式就是公平公正,找一些真正有才能的人來為國家服務,讓齊王國更強大,讓你的生活更安全。
這個官員聽到管仲的話之後埋怨管仲是一個不知道感恩的人。
