西元757年的三月，杜甫又回到唐王朝的首都。
他看到昔日繁華的唐王朝的首都變得非常的殘破，他的心中很感到非常的悲傷。他寫了一首詩。這首詩大概的意思如下。
首都淪陷後所有的人都逃離了這座城市，這座城市已經發生了劇烈的變化。
我又回到這座城市，現在是春天的季節，首都中昔日最繁華吵雜的城區中現在卻非常的安靜，只有花朵與樹木恣意而且茂盛的生長。
在這個安靜的城市中，我看到我熟悉的那些地方的盛開的花朵時，我流下了眼淚。
在這個安靜的城市中，我突然聽到鳥兒的歌唱時我嚇了一跳，我的心中充滿了戰爭造成的恐懼。
這場戰爭到現在已經持續好幾個月了，目前看來短期間還沒有辦法平息。
我一個人回到首都，我與那些孤獨地回到首都的人們一樣，我們都非常的想念我們家人。
在這個戰亂的時代，我沒有辦法陪在我的家人身邊，我也沒有辦法收到家人的信件得到家人的消息，我很擔心我的家人，我想我的家人也非常的牽掛我的安危。
現在這種情況下，我什麼事情都沒有辦法做，我每天搔著頭想要找出方法改變現狀。我的心中太愁煩了，我最近的頭髮變白了很多也掉了很多，我的頭髮變得稀疏到連髮髻都插不上去了。
