Originally meant ancient. It is also one of the Chinese surnames.

He was one of the most effective prime ministers in Chinese history. He helped Qin Shihuang establish many systems and laws. There is a story about him recorded in history books.

When he was young, he served as a low-ranking official in a county of the Chu Kingdom.

He lived an ordinary life.

One day, his superior assigned him to manage a large granary in the county.

When he arrived, his first task was to conduct a handover with the previous manager.

When he opened the door of the large granary, he saw that the huge granary was filled with sacks of rice.

When he started to count the rice in the granary, he saw a lot of rats in the granary.

These rats have chubby bodies, and these rats are not afraid at all when they see people.

At that moment, he suddenly remembered the office in the small rural town where he used to work.

There was a public toilet next to the office in a small town, and there were a lot of rats in that toilet.

The rats in that toilet were very thin and would run away in fear whenever they heard the footsteps of people or dogs.

he said to himself.

They are both rats, but there is such a big difference between rats that live in granaries and rats that live in toilets.

These rats have given me an inspiration. This inspiration is that these rats have different living environments, which leads to differences in their quality of life.

Aren't we humans the same as these rats?

If I continue to do this job comfortably, I may become like those rats in the toilet in the future.

If I want to change my future, if I want to achieve something in my life, I should move to another barn-like environment to seek development.

He continued to think deeply about his future.

he said to himself.

Although the granary is nice, I have to go through very tough competition to get into the granary.

My current skills are not enough. If I want to leave this place and achieve something in the future, there is a prerequisite. This premise is that I must first learn new knowledge.

He handed in his resignation letter that afternoon. After leaving his post, he first went to a thinker named (Xun Kuang) to learn the latest and most recognised knowledge of leadership and government.

He later became Prime Minister of the Qin Dynasty and helped Qin Shi Huang unify all of China.

Dear friend, what inspiration or thoughts do you have after listening to this story?

What do you envision for your future? If given the opportunity, would you bravely leave your current comfort zone to pursue your dreams?

I hope this story can give you some new insights.
