A little frog living in a well.(井底之蛙)
The famous philosopher (Zhuang Zhou) from
the Warring States period in China told a story.
There was a little frog who lived in a
small well.
One day, a big tortoise passed by the well.
The little frog happened to be basking in
the sun by the well. The little frog took the initiative to talk to the big
turtle.
Said the little frog.
I live in this well and I live happily
every day.
I often play at the well and when I get
tired I go back to my home in the well.
I can swim in the water of the well and I
can sit on the mud in the well and rest.
There are also some small crabs and
tadpoles living in this well.
I'm like the king of this well. I am so
happy with my life.
Said the little frog to the big turtle.
Would you like to come and see the well
where I live?
Replied the big tortoise.
OK, I'd love to.
But this well is too small compared to the
turtle's huge body.
One of the big turtle's feet is bigger than
the mouth of a well.
Said the big turtle to the little frog.
Thank you for inviting me. I would like to
visit your home and sit there, but the well is too small.
I'd better go back to my own home first.
Said the big turtle to the little frog.
If you get a chance in the future, you are
welcome to visit me at my home.
The place where I live is called the sea.
The sea is probably thousands of kilometres wide and thousands of metres deep.
The water from all the rivers on the land
flows into the sea every day, but the height of the sea water does not
increase.
Even if there is a drought on the land, the
level of the sea water does not go down.
If you come to visit me, I will definitely
receive you well.
The little frog was so surprised that he
couldn't speak when he heard what the big turtle said.
The literal translation of this idiom is
that a little frog lives in a well.
This idiom is used to describe a person who
thinks he is big and clever, but is actually very small and ignorant
Dear friend, what inspirations or thoughts

Are any of your friends like the little
frog? How can you avoid becoming like the little frog?
I hope this story can give you some new
insights.

(A little frog living in a well.)
