A man sneaked into the unoccupied house of the nobleman. The man wanted to secretly take some valuable things and sell them.
The man saw an expensive and large bronze chime lying on the floor in a room. The chime is an ancient Chinese percussion instrument.
The man tried to move the chime, but he was not strong enough. He could not even lift the chime from the floor.
Later he thought of a way. He went home and got a hammer and a chisel. He wanted to break the carillon into pieces and then take the pieces away one by one.
But when the man started to strike the chime, the bronze chime made a loud sound.
This new question made the man think again.
The man said to himself.
The sound I made when I struck that chime was too loud. I should have covered my ears before I struck the chime.
That was the only way I could reduce the sound of the chimes and avoid attracting the attention of the police.
