During the Yuan dynasty in China, there was
a very famous playwright named Guan Hanqing.
He wrote over 60 plays in his lifetime,
covering a wide range of creative themes. Through his works, he reflected the
social realities and phenomena of the time.
One of his plays features a female
protagonist named Tan Ji'er and a male protagonist named Bai Shizhong. This
play also features a villain named Yang Yanei.
Bai Shizhong is a central government
official and the mayor of Tanzhou City. He is married to Tan Ji'er.
Yang Yanei is a fearsome and powerful
tyrant whose family wields immense influence within the central government.
He passionately pursues Tan Ji'er, but she
does not reciprocate his feelings. Upon hearing of her marriage to Bai Shizhong,
Yang Yanei becomes extremely jealous and furious.
In an attempt to snatch Tan Ji'er away from
Bai Shizhong, Yang Yanei slanders and defames him before the king.
The king believed Yang Yanei and angrily
confronted Bai Shizhong:
'Here is a sword and a plaque representing
me. I entrust these two items to you.
I authorise you to secretly investigate
this matter in Tanzhou city. If your relatives' accusations are true, I will
immediately dismiss the current mayor of Tanzhou and punish him with the most
severe penalties.
If necessary, you can issue Bai Shizhong's
death sentence on my behalf.
Yang Yanei's evil scheme was leaked, and
Bai Shizhong learned of it in advance.
Bai Shizhong was very worried after hearing
this, and Tan Ji'er astutely noticed his distress.
After being questioned by Tan Ji'er, Bai
Shizhong revealed the news to her.
Upon hearing this, Tan Ji'er smiled and
said to Bai Shizhong, 'Why are you worried about this? 'Why are you worried

他創作的題材非常的廣泛，一生中寫出了超過60部的戲劇作品，他藉由他寫的作品反映出當時的社會環境的各種現象與當時的各種社會現實。
他寫的諸多作品中，有一部作品的女主角的名字叫做譚記兒，男主角的名字叫做白士中，這部戲中有一個反派人物，這個反派人物的名字叫做楊衙內。
白士中是一個中央政府的官員，他是(潭州)市的市長，他娶了(譚記兒)為妻。
楊衙內是一個令人畏懼的權貴惡霸，他的家族在當時的中央政府內有的極大的勢力。
楊衙內熱烈的追求譚記兒但是譚記兒不喜歡他，當他聽到(譚記兒)跟(白士中)的結婚的消息之後，他非常的忌妒而且憤怒。
