中國宋王朝有一個學者他的名字叫做(李昉)。他蒐集了中國歷史上的許多資料與記載，編了一本總數達500卷的奇幻故事集。
這本書中有一個故事。
在南北王朝的時代，有一個名字叫做諸葛元崇的年輕人，他的父親是劉宋王朝的一個中級官員。他的家族住在劉宋王朝的經濟與文化最發達的區域，這個地方位於現在的中國的南京市附近。
有一年，諸葛元崇的父親被派任到現在越南北邊擔任九真城市的市長，那個區域古代是屬於中國的領土，九真城市位於交州。
九真市在當時屬於比較落後的地區，諸葛元崇的父親與家人討論之後，決定只帶著諸葛元崇一起去到這座城市中就任，諸葛元崇的母親與其他的家人繼續留在家鄉。
幾年後，諸葛元崇19歲那一年，他的父親突然生病死了，19歲的諸葛元崇非常的難過，他辦理好自己的父親的喪事後，他決定帶著他的父親所留下來的金錢離開他父親所就任的九真市，他決定把自己的父親的遺體與棺木運送回家鄉。
這是一個中國人的古老傳統，中國人認為一個人死後，他的遺體應該要葬在自己的故鄉。
就在離開諸葛元崇帶著一大筆錢與他的父親的棺木離開父親就任的九真市後不久，諸葛元崇被兩個他所熟識的男人所謀殺。
這兩個男人諸葛元崇身上帶的那一大筆錢搶走後，把19歲的諸葛元崇推到河裡，諸葛元崇淹死在河中。，
諸葛元崇死後過了幾天，他在故鄉的母親做了一個夢，這個夢的內容如下。
諸葛元崇全身溼答答的出現在夢境中，諸葛元崇的臉上充滿悲傷，他對母親說。
我被兩個壞人害死了，我被推到河裡然後淹死了。
我的嘴巴中像是含著苦澀的悲傷、我把這些悲傷咀嚼吞下肚子之後變成了無窮的憤恨。
我已經離開家鄉好幾年，我多麼想再見到你一面，所以我的靈魂回來了。
我從那麼遠的地方回到家鄉，太累了，我要睡一下，我去那個我以前都會睡覺的那張床上休息一下。
我是真的很想念你，如果你明天到我常睡的那張床上看看，你就可以真的知道我已經回來過了。
諸葛元崇的媽媽從夢中驚醒，她立刻跑到諸葛元崇以前睡的那個房間，她看到這張床上的棉被全都濕了，而且原本鋪平的被子就像是有一個人睡過覺一樣的凌亂，他的母親大聲痛哭，她的母親的哭聲吵醒了所有人，大概十幾分鐘後，諸葛元崇的家族中的每個人都知道了這個訊息。
諸葛元崇的母親的一個名字叫做徐道立的親戚也在劉宋王朝的中央政府內任職，這個親戚是交州州長身邊的高級行政人員。
後來在徐道立的幫忙下，這兩個犯了殺人罪的壞人被逮捕並且被處以死刑。
這件奇異的已經死去的靈魂回到家鄉的事件被詳細的紀錄下來，所有人事物都是真實的。
這句成語直接翻譯的意思是我的嘴巴中像是含著苦澀的悲傷、我把這些悲傷咀嚼吞下肚子之後變成了無窮的憤恨。
這句成語被用來形容一個人的內心感到極度的悲傷與憤恨。

During the Song dynasty in China, there was
a scholar named Li Fang. He collected materials and records from Chinese
history, compiling a collection of 500 volumes of fantasy stories.
One of these stories is about a young man
named Zhuge Yuanchong.
During the Northern and Southern Dynasties
period, there was a young man named Zhuge Yuanchong. His father was a mid-level
official in the Liu Song dynasty. The family lived in the region of the Liu
Song Dynasty that was the most economically and culturally developed, near
present-day Nanjing, China.
One year, Zhuge Yuanchong's father was
appointed mayor of Jiuzhen City, which is now located in northern Vietnam. This
area was historically Chinese territory and the city was situated in Jiaozhou.
The city was a relatively underdeveloped
region at the time. After discussing it with his family, Zhuge Yuanchong's
father decided to take only him with him to the city, while his mother and
other family members remained in their hometown.
A few years later, when Zhuge Yuanchong was
19, his father suddenly fell ill and died. Zhuge Yuanchong was deeply saddened.
After arranging his father's funeral, he left Jiuzhen City with the money his
father had left behind. He intended to transport his father's body and coffin back
to his hometown.
This is an ancient Chinese tradition: the
Chinese believe that a person's body should be buried in their hometown after
death.
Shortly after leaving Jiuzhen City with a
large sum of money and his father's coffin, Zhuge Yuanchong was murdered by two
men he knew.
After robbing him, the two men pushed the
19-year-old into the river, where he drowned.
A few days after his death, his mother in
his hometown had a dream. The dream went as follows:
In the dream, Zhuge Yuanchong appeared, soaking
wet and looking sorrowful. He said to his mother,
'I was killed by two bad men. They pushed
me into the river and I drowned.
My mouth felt like it was filled with
bitter sorrow; I chewed and swallowed this sorrow, and it transformed into
endless resentment.
I have been away from home for many years.
How I long to see you again! So now my soul has returned.
I am so tired from coming back from so far
away. I need to sleep. I will sleep in the bed I used to sleep in.
I really miss you. If you go to my old bed
tomorrow, you'll know for sure that I've come back."
Zhuge Yuanchong's mother awoke with a
start. She rushed to the room where Zhuge Yuanchong used to sleep. She found
the bedsheets soaked and the once-smoothed blankets dishevelled, as if someone
had slept there. Her mother wept loudly, waking everyone. Within ten minutes,
the whole of Zhuge Yuanchong's family knew the news.
Xu Daoli, a relative of Zhuge Yuanchong's
mother, also served in the central government of the Liu Song dynasty. He was a
high-ranking administrator who served the governor of Jiaozhou.
With Xu Daoli's help, the two murderers
were later arrested and executed.
This strange event involving a deceased
soul returning to its hometown was recorded in detail, and everything and
everyone involved was real.
This idiom translates literally as "My
mouth felt like it was filled with bitter sorrow; I chewed and swallowed this
sorrow, and it transformed into endless resentment".
It is used to describe extreme sadness and
resentment.
