中國的晉王朝時代有一個著名的大臣，他的名字是溫嶠，歷史書上記載過一個關於他的故事。
西元327年，有兩個在地方政府中掌握著屬於自己的軍隊的將軍聯合起來發動叛變，這兩個將軍一個名字叫做蘇峻另一個名字叫做祖約。
這隻叛亂的軍隊的戰力非常的強大，西元328年，叛軍攻佔了首都建康市，皇宮被大火燒毀，蘇峻與祖約沒有殺害年紀只有8歲的國王，但是中央政府的實際控制權全落入他們兩個人的手中。
這場叛亂發生之後，溫嶠立刻召集了東晉王朝地方上許多有軍事實力且效忠於晉王朝的將軍，溫嶠與這些將軍們舉開了一場會議，在這場會議中，溫嶠說了一段話。
現在我將分析我所掌握到的情報。
蘇峻與祖約所領導著這支叛亂的軍隊一開始大概有五千名士兵，在攻打首都的過程中，已經損失了大約一千名的士兵，首都城內主要以經濟與商業貿易為主，沒有辦法自己生產糧食，所以首都內的糧食都需要從其他地方運補，因此我判斷這支叛軍的軍糧目前也面臨短缺。
佔領了我們晉王朝在長江以北的廣大土地的北方的後趙王國也知道了這個消息，他們也想要趁這個機會攻打建康市，所以蘇峻與祖約必須從手上的這四千個士兵中，強行調動一部份去防守邊境。
整合這些情報，我認為我們如果組成聯合軍隊，那麼我們在軍力與後援準備上具有壓倒性的優勢。
我以前跟兩個人都相處過，根據我的觀察，我認為祖約是一個心胸狹隘、愛忌妒別人且不容易相信別人的人，蘇峻是一個固執兇惡且心中充滿猜忌的人，他的眼睛中只看的到利益。
我認為他們兩個人的合作基礎非常的薄弱，因此我很有信心，只要我們組成一支有組織的聯合軍隊後，一定可以很快地收復我們的首都。

The purpose of this blog was to introduce

During the Jin dynasty in China, there was
a famous minister named Wen Qiao. History books tell a story about him.
In 327 AD, two generals who commanded
armies within local governments joined forces to launch a rebellion. One
general was named Su Jun and the other Zu Yue.
This rebel army was very powerful. In 328
AD, they captured the capital, Jiankang. The royal palace was burned down.
Although Su Jun and Zu Yue did not kill the eight-year-old king, they gained
control of the central government.
Following the rebellion, Wen Qiao
immediately convened a meeting of generals capable of leading the military and
loyal to the Eastern Jin dynasty. During this meeting, Wen Qiao made the
following remarks:
'I will now analyse the intelligence I
currently possess.
The rebel army, led by Su Jun and Zu Yue,
initially numbered around five thousand soldiers. During the attack on the
capital, they lost about one thousand soldiers. The capital city relies
primarily on economic and commercial trade and is unable to produce its own
food. Therefore, all food supplies must be transported from elsewhere. I
therefore judge that this rebel army is currently facing a food shortage.
'The Later Zhao Kingdom in the north, which
has occupied vast territories north of the Yangtze River belonging to our Jin
Dynasty, has also learned of this.' They intend to take this opportunity to
attack Jiankang too. Therefore, Su Jun and Zu Yue must redeploy some of their
4,000 soldiers to defend the border.
'Having consolidated this intelligence, I
believe that forming a joint army would give us an overwhelming advantage in
terms of military strength and logistical support.'
" I've interacted with both of them
before. Based on my observations, Zu Yue seems narrow-minded, jealous and
distrustful, while Su Jun appears stubborn, vicious and suspicious; he only saw
profit.
I believe their cooperation is based on
very weak foundations. Therefore, I am confident that, once we have formed an
organised, united army, we can quickly recapture our capital.
The literal translation of this idiom is
'He only saw profit'.
It is used to describe someone who only
sees self-interest.
