中國的宋王朝有一個著名的大臣，他的名字叫做陳宓，歷史書上記載了一個他的故事。
陳宓的個性非常正直而且勇敢，他寫了一封信直接向當時的國王提出他的諍言，這封信的大概內容如下。
我們國家的中央政府中存在許多問題，我在這邊提出幾點我所看到的、迫切需要改革的事情。
第一點是雖然國王你本人只吃素食，但是除了你之外、所有皇宮中的妃嬪與工作人員在飲食上都非常的浪費，我們國家的邊境上正在打仗，我們前線的士兵們辛苦的作戰，我們需要省下更多的錢才能夠提供前線的士兵們充足的糧食與武器。應該要在皇宮內進行制度性的改革，才能夠有效的改變目前的胡亂花錢的情況。
第二點是目前的中央政府中的官員任用系統不完善，很多大臣將自己可以主導與控制的職位交給自己的朋友與親人，這是一項很嚴重的人事管理上的問題。這些大臣們所管理的各個部門，已經各自形成了相互包庇並且輸送不當的利益
的風氣，目前中央政府內的情況是正直的人被排擠而貪汙的人享受好處。
第三點是目前我們政府中，對於金融與民生相關的一些政策的頻繁更改已經造成了百姓們的巨大困擾，我們為了解決金融問題所設立的那個新部門的官員們，每個人都固執地堅持自己的看法而不願意聽取好的意見，這個新部門不但沒有幫助我們的金融秩序變的穩定，反而讓我們的金融系統系統變得更加混亂。
第四點是關於官員們的獎勵與懲罰的規矩已經被人為嚴重干預，很多打了敗仗很將軍反而升職，很多沒有能力的官員被安排擔任重要的職務，與此相反的，很多保衛國家的老將軍因為一點小過失就被降職，很多能力卓越的大臣被解除職務。
這些是我看到的非常嚴重的需要改革的問題，我提出我的意見，希望國王能夠看見並且重視這些問題。

Stubbornly clinging to One's Own Views(固執己見)
This blog was originally intended as an
introduction to Chinese culture for international friends. For the sake of

There was a famous minister in China's Song
dynasty named Chen Mi, and his story is recorded in history books.
Chen Mi was a very upright and courageous
person. He wrote a letter directly to the king, offering his honest advice. The
gist of the letter is as follows:
'There are many problems in the central
government of our country. I would now like to highlight a few issues that
urgently require reform.
Firstly, although Your Majesty is a
vegetarian, the concubines and palace staff are extremely wasteful with food.
Our country is at war on the border, and our soldiers are fighting hard on the
front lines. We need to save money to provide them with sufficient food and
weapons. Systemic reforms within the palace are needed to change the current
situation of reckless spending effectively.
Secondly, the current system for appointing
central government officials is flawed. Many ministers delegate positions of
power to their friends and relatives, which creates serious personnel
management problems. The various departments managed by these ministers have
developed a culture of mutual protection and illicit benefit transfer.
Currently, within the central government, honest people are marginalised while
corrupt individuals reap the rewards.
Thirdly, frequent changes to financial
policies and those affecting people's livelihoods have caused immense distress.
Officials in the new department set up to solve financial issues are stubbornly
clinging onto their own views and are refusing to listen to sound advice. Not
only has this new department failed to stabilise our financial order, it has
actually made our financial system more chaotic.
Fourthly, the rules governing the reward
and punishment of officials have been severely manipulated. Many generals who
have suffered defeat have been promoted, while many incompetent officials have
been given important positions. Conversely, many veteran generals who defended
the country have been demoted for minor mistakes, and many highly capable
ministers have been dismissed.
These are serious issues that require
reform. I am raising these issues in the hope that the King will take them
seriously.

the views of others.
