(She uses every means to accumulate
money and hoards it for herself without ever growing weary.)

She uses every means to accumulate money
and hoards it for herself without ever growing weary.(聚斂無厭)
There was a famous official named Wang Yan
(256–311 AD) in the Jin Dynasty of China.
History records his story.
He once commanded the military system of
the Jin Dynasty, a position similar to Minister of Defence in the modern era.
His family was one of the most prominent in
the dynasty, with many members holding important positions in the central
government.
Although he had a very successful life, he
was unhappy because his wife greatly annoyed him.
Her father was a prominent minister at the
time, and their marriage was a political alliance.
She had a strong personality and was
stubborn, insisting on her own opinions and methods. Although she wasn't
intelligent, she often used her power to interfere in other people's affairs.
Furthermore, she was extremely greedy.
She uses every means to accumulate money
and hoards it for herself without ever growing weary.
Wang Yan disliked his wife's behaviour
deeply, but he couldn't change her. Consequently, he was unhappy whenever he
returned home from work to see her.
At that time, there was a famous general
named Li Yang.
He was a very prestigious man, extremely
dignified and upright, and highly respected in his hometown.
Wang Yan's wife was from the same hometown
as Li Yang and had always feared him.
On several occasions when Wang Yan saw his
wife acquiring wealth through extremely dishonest means, he would threaten her,
saying, "If you continue to acquire wealth in such dishonest ways, I will
tell Li Yang."
Upon hearing this, Wang Yan's wife,
fearful, restrained her behaviour.
This idiom directly translates to "she
uses every means to accumulate money and hoards it for herself without ever
growing weary".
It is used to describe someone who is
extremely greedy.
